The National Opera performs in Kiev at National Opera House named after the famous Ukrainian artist and poet Taras Schevchenko. The National opera House was first opened in 1901 and still offers high-class opera and ballet performances for the public. The building was built after the original City Theatre.

the National Opera House of Ukraine is a very beautiful building, located right in the center of Kiev and easily reachable on foot, by metro (Teatralna), by taxi. The interior is taken care of, the cost of tickets is affordable, the online booking is efficient. I saw two operas by Puccini (Tosca and Turandot). A pleasant experience, to be repeated.
