I imagine Starfighters would be of the recon or defensive type. The majority of the guns appear to be anti-Starfighter. The big guns in the back go along with the big engines; a good size warship comes along, the Kontos turns tail and outruns it while giving it a few good shots to slow it down. All in all, an interesting design.

edit: these are my favorite ships; I'm thinking the Kontos is a little shorter. I think it's bigger than a corvette, it's over 500 metres. The Raider is only 150 metres. Nice! finally an actual sapce ship! it bothers me so much that in many sci fi settings, spaceships dont' even have anything on their bottom.
